Out and About walkin' & swimmin' in Athens

Sunset in Athens
on our second day in Athens, Brenda and I decided to catch tram no5 from Syntagma Square. That took us all the way, almost a 45-hour ride, to the nearest beach in Athens. Oh yes, we just wanted to go for a swim.

It was a long stretch of different alcoves, where locals and tourists alike just laid on the beach and had the sun scorching their skin. It was around 4 pm i believe that we got there. We decided to get on the tram, end up where the last stop was and then hop back on and decide which beach we wanted to settle for.

There on the beach we just lazed around, with our Spanish-English dictionary and translation book. I learned so much about her and background. She showed me some photos of her place and the arts she's done. Besides the theatre, she also does a lot of painting. Some which would be under the category of abstract. After some time, we took turns in dipping and swimming. The water wasn't that cold, so it was justperfect for the afternoon heat. We watched the sunset later on with her sipping her coffee. She's an addict for her caffeine.

On our last day, we decided to walk the streets near Victoria Square and just get lost in the crowd before heading for Monasteriki. There, the chaotic traffic of Athens driving was right before us. It was amazing. I always get high with that experience when I'm engulfed with the local scene :) We also found a wet market where they sold fresh fish. Wahhh, we were just so happy to find it along the road. It was sort of hidden from the crowd, but for some reason it just caught my eye. And there we were getting offered the fresh catch of the day. If only we had a kitchen to cook fish! WAHH!! I was just crazy for fish at that moment!
